APPLICATION

The 1336-BDB-SP79D replacement gate driver board by Allen-Bradley is a gate driver board located between the main control board and the drive’s chassis that takes low-power input signals from the control module and amplifies them to high power inputs for the IGBT switch. The 1336-BDB-SP79D board is a replacement part for the F-frame 1336 FORCE, PLUS II, PLUS, FORCE, and IMPACT drives with all enclosure ratings. The 1336-BDB-SP79D board is designed for a circuit with a 575 Volts AC voltage rating and for 1336 PLUS II, PLUS, FORCE, and IMPACT drives with a total output power rating of 400 Horsepower. It is located between the main control board and the main chassis and it is installed on the gate driver mounting plate.

The 1336-BDB-SP79D board is installed on the gate driver mounting plate by using 8 factory-supplied stand-off screws that are fastened in a clockwise direction. There are multiple jumper connectors (J2 through J13) on the gate driver board that helps to complete the circuit connection between connectors on the board surface. It has a contact terminal for high voltage auxiliary input, and terminals TB20 and TB21 for connection to the control module. The 1336-BDB-SP79D board is installed when the drive’s old gate driver board is damaged. To install the 1336-BDB-SP79D board on the gate driver mounting plate, first, turn off the power to the drive, and then attach the new 1336-BDB-SP79D gate driver board to the mounting plate by using the supplied stand-off screws (8 screws) that are fastened in a ¼ clockwise direction. Then attach the jumper connectors on the board surface, and also attach the auxiliary input terminal.
