Overview

Essential details:1715-OF8I  Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1715 Redundant I/O module

The Allen-Bradley 1715-OF8I is an analog output module from the Redundant I/O system of Allen-Bradley. This module features Eight (8) current output channels providing 4-20 mA standard signal which can be used to drive modulating devices such as control valves, dampers, louvers, positioners, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). It may also be used for signal retransmission for further integration or reprocessing of data loggers, panel meters, and single-loop controllers. The 1715-OF8I is intended for use in applications with a high level of criticality and high availability from controller level up to I/O level. This module has a modular assembly and requires the use of separate termination module and base modules specifically, 1715-TADOF8 or 1715-A310 module base and 1715-TASOF8 respectively. The 1715-OF8I has a Data Input value least significant bit (control) of 0.98 ?A and Data Output value least significant bit (monitor) 3.9 ?A. Each channel exhibits a measurement error of 0.30% + 10 ?A after a year of operating at an environment of 40 º C (104 º F); 0.35% + 10 ?A after the 2nd year of operation and 0.44% + 10 ?A after 5 years of operation. It has temperature drift of (0.01% + 0.1 ?A) per º C. This module comes with LED status indicators which include Healthy, Ready, and Run as well as individual channel LED indictors for depicting the energization state of each channel. The module’s operating voltage range is 18-32 VDC with a backplane current draw of 260 mA. It also has a maximum power dissipation of 3.6 Watts and field loop power dissipation of 0.64 Watts.
