The 1761-L32BWA is a MicroLogix controller. This is a compact controller that is suitable for use in automating simple machine and process control requirements. The 1761-L32BWA is manufactured by Allen-Bradley that is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

This PLC unit is capable of handling up to Twenty (20) discrete inputs. These input channels support sinking and sourcing configuration and may be provided with voltage signal of 24VDC. Discrete inputs represent the state of field devices such as switches and relays. It also has Twelve (12) contact outputs with ratings of 24-125VDC / 120/240VAC. Discrete outputs are used to energize external loads to implement control.

Though the integrated RS232 communication port, the controller may be used to communicate with DF1 protocol enabled devices such as Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), protocol gateways and communication protocol converters. This communication port may also be configured with DH485 communication. For connecting to a DH485 network, the Allen-Bradley 1761-NET-AIC may be used.

This controller is capable of implementing PLC instructions such as Bit logic, Timers, Counters, Flip-Flops, Comparator instructions, Math Operations, Data Handling, Program control, Register manipulation and Messaging instructions.

Alternatively, this PLC device may also be configured using the MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmer (HHP).
