- This controller has an integrated 8-pin Mini DIN RS232 communication port that supports DH-485, DF1 Full and Half Duplex, Modbus Master and Slave and ASCII protocols. DF1, ASCII and Modbus in this controller operates in peer-to-peer configuration. Converters may be used to multiplex the serial port to allow communication to multiple devices. These converters may be an RS223 to Ethernet converter of RS232 to RS485 converter. DH-485 is ideal for connecting to a network bus with the use of an external converter such as a 1761-NET-AIC.
This controller requires installation to an enclosure that provides adequate protection to the device as the 1762-L40BWA is an electronic device. The enclosure temperature must be maintained at temperature of +0°C to +55°C. Appropriate climate control devices is recommended to be installed in the enclosure such as a heater, fan or combination of both, depending on the installation location.
