The Allen-Bradley 1762-L40BXBR is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is part of the MicroLogix 1200 controller family. This controller has a total of 40 I/O channels, specifically Twenty (20) 24VDC sink / source inputs, Four (4) fast 24VDC inputs, Eight (8) relay, Seven (7) 24VDC FET and One (1) High-speed 24VDC FET outputs. Additionally, it has Two (2) Trim Potentiometers that may be configured to modify internal and memory registers for simulation and control purposes.
The 1762-L40BXBR has a compact assembly that supports installation of up to Six (6) 1762 expansion I/O modules. This controller also comes with Two (2) communication ports particularly One (1) programming port and One (1) primary communication interface. The primary communication interface may be used for interfacing with Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory and Control Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, gateways, converters and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED). The 1762-L40BXBR has an operating temperature requirement of +0°C to +55°C (+32°F to +131°F) ambient and storage temperature of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F) ambient with relative humidity of 5% to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing). This controller supports panel or DIN rail mounting with operating vibration of 10 to 500 Hz, 5G, 0.030 in. max. peak-to-peak, 2 hours each axis and shock rating of 30G; 3 pulses each direction, each axis.
Its relay output can support a maximum load of 1440VA, with 8A maximum current per group common rating, and a 30A overall per points load at 150V. The relay output also has a minimum Turn-OFF/ON time of 10 milliseconds, with 20,000,000 cycles relay life and a 10mA minimum load per point. The 1762-L40BXBR has 75 Volt DC isolation voltage between the input group-to-backplane and between the FET output group-to-backplane, dielectrically-tested at 1200 Volts AC for 1 second, and it has IEC Class 2 reinforced insulation between relay output group and relay output group and FET output group isolation, tested at 1836 Volts AC for 1 second. The controller has an operational temperature range of 32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit, at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, and a storage temperature of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The 1762-L40BXBR is designed to withstand a maximum operating shock of 30G and a vibration of 5G at 10 to 500 Hertz. It weighs approximately 1.1 kilograms (2.4 pounds), with net dimensions of 90 x 160 x 87 millimeters, and it is UL, c-UL, and CE certified.
