2198-H003-ERS Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5500 Servo Drive
The Allen-Bradley 2198-H003-ERS is a Kinetix Servo module. It is part of the Bulletin 2198 which refers to the Kinetix 5500 Motion control system. This servo drive features flexibility as it can be powered by a variety of input voltages – specifically, 195-264 Volts rms, 1-phase, 195-264 Volts rms, 3-phase, and 324-528 Volts rms, 3-phase. It generates an output power of 0.2 Kilowatts, 0.3 Kilowatts, and 0.6 Kilowatts, respectively, along a continuous output current of 1.4 Amperes.
The 2198-H003-ERS is a single axis drive that is provided with a variety of terminal strips installed to its front panel that are individually separated by function. Terminal strips are labelled as Control Power Connector (CP); Mains AC input connector (IPD); DC Bus Connector (DC); Shunt Connector (RC); Cable Shield Clamp; Motor Power Connector (MP); Motor Brake Connector (BC); Motor Feedback Connector (MF) and Digital Input Connector (IOD).
The 2198-H003-ERS supports hardwired Safe Torque-Off (STO) functionality. This safety feature is certified ISO 13849-1 PLd/SIL2, allowing this drive to be installed in application areas that require compliance to this safety standard. This drive is also equipped with Load-Observer Real-Time tuning technology, which effectively lessens tuning of each servo axis; automatic compensation of unknown mechanics; automatic adjustment for highly variable inertia applications; and contributes to overall enhanced performance of the drive.
The embedded dual Ethernet interfaces support Linear and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology which is mainly used for implementing integrated motion over Ethernet I/P. These ports support 10/100 Mbps communication rate and can be configured to interface with CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers that support motion over Ethernet I/P.
