The Allen-Bradley 2711-K5A5L1 is part of the PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family. This operator terminal is more commonly known as Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is used to provide real-time monitoring and control of process or machines.

The 2711-K5A5L1 establishes connection and exchanges data between automation partners through the built-in RS232 interface that supports DH485 protocol. This communication interface support peer-to-peer connection, however, it may also be used in networked application when used with appropriate Network Interface Cards.

The 2711-K5A5L1 has a 5.5-inch monochrome display featuring a display resolution of 256 X 128 pixels and display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.). This screen serves as the monitoring interface where the process may be observed. It also comes with an internal backlight that is designed up to 100,000 operation hours.

To operate and interact with the process, the operator is provided with Ten (10) function keys, numeric keypad and navigation keys, all designed to allow the operator to navigate through screens, select objects and modify process parameters. This keypad assembly may also be installed with function key legend inserts to easily recognize the key assignments.

The 2711-K5A5’s power supply rating is 18 to 32 VDC with nominal input supply of 24VDC. It comes with an internal 170KB Random Access Memory (RAM) and 240KB non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory may be expanded by installing an ATA memory card with memory options ranging from 2MB to 32 flash memory.

It also comes with advanced alarm handling capabilities to set the configuration as per application needs.
