The working principle of the piezoelectric speed sensor is based on the piezoelectric effect. When some dielectric is subjected to external force, its internal polarization phenomenon will occur, and at the same time, the opposite sign of the charge is generated on the two surfaces. When the external force is removed, it returns to a non-charged state. This piezoelectric effect causes the dielectric to generate an electric charge when it is stressed, thus forming an electrical signal.
In piezoelectric speed sensors, materials with piezoelectric effect such as quartz or piezoelectric ceramics are usually used as sensitive elements. When the measured object vibrates, the sensitive element will be subjected to the action of alternating forces, resulting in a charge signal. After the charge signal is processed by the electronic circuit, it is converted into the voltage signal output, so as to obtain the vibration speed of the measured object.
Piezoelectric speed sensors have a wide measurement range and can usually measure vibration speeds from low frequency to high frequency. It has high measurement accuracy, high reliability, and can be used for a long time in harsh environments and working conditions. In industrial automation control systems, piezoelectric speed sensors are often used to monitor the vibration state of various mechanical equipment, such as the absolute vibration speed of bearing housing, housing or structure.
