No special tools are required for assembly or disassembly. The 3300 XL 8mm probe and extension cable can be ordered with an installed connector protector or installed in the field (if the cable must be placed in a restraint conduit). For connectors in humid environments, it is recommended to use a connector protector in all installations to provide environmental protection. A large temperature range (ETR) probe and extension cable can be used when the probe lead or extension cable may exceed 177oC (350oF) in the application. Large temperature range probes have probe leads and connectors with a temperature range of up to 260oC (500oF). ETR probes and extension cables are compatible with probes and cables in standard temperature ranges. For example, an ETR probe can be used with a 330130 extension cable. The ETR system uses a standard 3300 XL preprocessor. When any ETR component is used in the system, the accuracy of the entire system depends on the accuracy of the ETR system.
