The 3500/22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) is the interface between the 3500 monitoring system and compatible software (System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic software and 3500 System Configuration software). The TDI combines the function of a 3500/20 Rack Interface Module (RIM) with the data collection capability of a communication processor such as TDXnet.
The TDI resides in the slot adjacent to the power supplies of a 3500 rack. It interfaces with M series monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, etc.) to continuously collect steady state and transient dynamic (waveform) data and pass this data through an Ethernet link to the host software. Refer to the Compatibility section at the end of this document for more information.
Static data capture capability is standard with the TDI. However, using an optional Channel Enabling Disk will allow the TDI to capture dynamic and high-resolution transient data as well. The TDI incorporates the communication processor function within the 3500 rack.
Although the TDI provides certain functions common to the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and has no effect on the proper, normal operation of the overall monitor system for automatic machinery protection. Every 3500 rack requires one TDI or RIM, which always occupies Slot 1 (next to the power supplies).
The function of analog input module is to convert the continuously changing analog signals such as temperature, flow, current and voltage into a number of digital signals which can be processed by the CPU. The analog input circuit is generally composed of operational amplifier conversion, mode conversion (A/D), photoelectric isolation, etc.
PLC input, output module types: digital input DI, digital output DO, analog input AI, analog output AO.
Digital input and output are generally 24V.
There are two types of analog quantity and four kinds of analog quantity. The two types are voltage type and current type respectively. Voltage type has 0-10V and -10 to 10V. Current type mainly has 4-20MA,0-20MA. Then the module through A/D conversion, the analog quantity converted to +32767~-32768 number, and then the implementation of control.
The function of signal template is to convert various process i/o signals. The input of a variety of signals into digital quantities, easy to plc identification, processing and analysis. The output is converted into analog to various regulating mechanisms to execute, or the output is converted into 2-bit do quantity to control some devices such as start stop, on and off
1.3 Digital input/output module
The switching input module is the processing module of the external control signal or the field detection signal to the PLC CPU. The external signal is generally the button, proximity switch, travel switch and so on.
The output module is the PLC according to the input module into the signal and internal logic programming logic processing, processing results, switching output will be output by the output module high and low level signal, drive the external intermediate relay, contactor, indicator light, solenoid valve and other components, so that the external equipment for the corresponding action
1.4 Functions of the Output module
The function of PLC output module is to amplify the power of the output signal. PLC signal is expressed in level, in order to make it in the process of being read without distortion, it needs to have a certain reserve energy or to have a certain signal power. The function of the output module is actually a power amplifier. The output module is what drives the external load.

PLC input module is used to receive the various parameters of the production process. (start stop)
