Product Description

The GE General Regulator Board DS3800DMPK1E1D features 14 erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules. The GE General Regulator Board DS3800DMPK1E1D also is populated with 2 34-pin ribbon cables, 2 single-pin connectors, and 17 jumpers.

The replacement GE General Regulator Board DS3800DMPK1E1D comes without EPROM modules installed in the module sockets. The sockets are embedded on the board and the modules are designed to be installed or removed as necessary. To remove a module, slid a flat-blade screwdriver between the module and the socket on either end of the module. Rock the blade gently to lift the module free of the socket. Then, perform the same procedure on the other end of the module. Immediately place the module in a static-protective bag. The data on the module can be corrupted easily by static and the bag will prevent static from entering the module.

Locate the same socket on the replacement board and align it with the socket. Use your fingers to gently press it into the socket. Inspect the connection between the socket and the module for any space between them. Press the socket if necessary to make sure there a full connection with the module. Place the replacement board on a flattened static-protective bag while you install the modules.

You must also examine the jumpers on the defective board and note the position of each jumper. That is, note if the jumper covers pins 1 and 2 or pins 2 and 3. Locate the same jumper on the replacement board and move the jumper on it to match the position.
