Product Description

The DS3815PABA1A1B is a smaller PCB (printed circuit board) created by GE for the Mark IV system.  The MKIV, which is for steam/gas turbine control, has interconnected microcomputers built with intentional redundant backups on all critical controls.   The MKIV is designed to control applications like startup, shutdown, control sequencing, temperature, power supply, and speed control. This system has an improved interface and decreased turbine outage rate compared to the MKI and MKII,  GE’s first Speedtronic systems.

The DS3815PABA1A1B is a daughter board for a larger PCB.  It communicates and connects to the larger board by way of a 278A4702P3B ribbon connector.  The board is factory-drilled in all corners to connect to the larger PCB.

The DS3815PABA1A1B is built with three TP test points.  The test points are labeled SIM2, COM, and SIM1. These are located next to two toggle switches.  The first of these switches may be set to CONT or SS and the second to WR or LADR. The board also is populated with two thumbwheel switches (1A213034GF) that have ten legend locations.  These components have special rotor markings and stop pins to let the user create customized interfaces.
