Essential details:DSQC652 IO signal board with 16-point digital input and 16-point digital output ABB
The robot usually needs to receive signals from other devices or sensors in order to complete the assigned production task. For example, to move a cargo from a plate chain to another place, it must first determine whether the cargo has reached the specified position, which requires a position sensor (position switch). When the goods arrive at the designated location, the sensor sends a signal to the robot. When the robot receives this signal, it performs the corresponding operation, such as starting to move in a predetermined path.
For the robot, the signal of the switch in place belongs to the digital input signal. In the ABB robot, this signal reception is accomplished through the standard IO signal board. The standard IO signal, also known as the signal input/output board, is installed in the robot’s control cabinet. Common ABB robot standard IO signal boards include DSQC651, DSQC652, DSQC653 and so on (not one list). In today’s article, we take QSDC652 as an example to understand the standard IO signal board of ABB robot.
First, let’s look at what the DSQC652 looks like:
DSQC652 is an IO signal board with 16-point digital input and 16-point digital output. In the figure above, X1 and X2 are digital output terminals, and X3 and X4 are digital input terminals. Each wiring terminal has 10 terminals. For signal output X1 and X2, No. 1-8 is the output channel, No. 9 is 0V, No. 10 is 24V+; For signal input X3 and X4, input channels 1 to 8, 0V for 9, and unused for 10. For the definition of X1~X4 terminals and their assigned addresses, please refer to the following picture:
Above the X1 and X2, there are two rows of LED indicators, eight in each row, representing eight channels. When a channel has signal output, the channel LED indicator light will light up; As shown below:
Similarly, below X3 and X4, there are also two rows of LED indicators, used to indicate the state of the corresponding channel, when a channel has signal input, the channel LED indicator light will be lit;
The terminal X5 on the left is used to connect the DeviceNet bus and set the address of the IO signal board on the t bus. Please refer to this article for details: How to set the DeviceNet bus address of the ABB robot standard IO board?
In addition to the standard IO signal board, ABB robot also supports RS232 communication, OPC communication, Socket communication and fieldbus communication (Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, etc.), related content will be introduced in future articles.
