Essential details:IC697CGR935-EB GE Hot-standby CPU from the Series 90-70 Series
The IC697CGR935 is a Hot-standby CPU from the Series 90-70 Series of Emerson Automation, formerly GE Fanuc. This controller is especially designed for use in applications with increased criticality and requires increased uptime and availability. This processor is used with another IC697CGR935 to form a redundant or Hot Standby pair.
Hot-standby or redundancy is achieved by installing a pair of IC697CGR935. One is designated as the primary and the other as secondary controller. Both are powered-up and actively synchronizing the user logic. Once the primary controller fails, the secondary controller takes-over automatically without the need of powering-up the unit thus, the word Hot-standby controller. With the pair of controller in place, users can experience bumpless transfer of control form one CPU to another without a noticeable interruption in the process.
This processor primarily features a built-in 1 Mbyte Fast Memory and I/O memory that can accommodate 12 K discrete inputs and 12 K discrete outputs of any combination and up to 8K analog I/O devices. It is installed with a 96 MHz, 80486DX4 microprocessor with Boolean execution speed of 0.4 microseconds. It comes with One (1) RS232 Serial interface; Two (2) RS485 interface. All protocols supported by the serial interface are SNP slave only. This controller has a battery-backed RAM with compatible replacement of IC697ACC701 Lithium battery which has a shelf life of 5 years at 20 C (68 F) and memory retention of 6 months without applied power.

IC697CGR935-EB GE Hot-standby CPU from the Series 90-70 Series
-
The IC697CGR935 has current draw of 3.1 A with operating temperature requirement of 0 to 60C (32F to 140F) with Forced Air and 0 to 50C (32F to 122F) without forced air.
The GE Fanuc IC697CGR935 CPU is a CPU with an 80486DX4 processor. It is fully compatible with the GE Series 90-30 and Series 90-70 PLC systems. It is capable of floating-point calculations and is used widely for industrial applications. The CPU is programmed using a personal computer with the MS-DOS or Windows programming software. It runs with a supply voltage of 5 Volts. It comes with a current rating of 3.1 Amps. The CPU uses 1 MB of CMOS RAM for processing. The memory is backed with a battery. The IC697CGR935 programmable CPU is equipped with 2 ports that are known as Ports 1 and 2. An AS693232SNP cable can be connected to either of the ports.
The front of the IC697CGR935 CPU has LED status indicators that glow solid green for different events. The LEDs glow if a cable is connected to either of the ports. The middle left LED indicates the function of the processor and the bottom LED shows the I/O activity. In addition to these LEDs, a 3-position switch is also included that corresponds with the LEDs. In the top position, the switch allows all the functions. All of the outputs will be disabled if the switch is switched to the middle position, and the switch will cause the CPU exit the RUN mode when it is switched to the bottom position. The IC697CGR935 CPU can only be operated in a location with a temperature range between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. For temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius, forced cooling methods need to be applied. The IC697CGR935 CPU is equipped with an RJ 45 port for network and communication connections.
