IC697CPU771   GE Central Processing Unit (CPU) module

The IC697CPU771 is a Central Processing Unit (CPU) module for the Series 90-70 platform of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This CPU module is formerly produced by GE Fanuc Automation, however, recently acquired by Emerson Automation. CPU modules such as the IC697CPU771 are an essential component of a PLC assembly as the CPU is responsible for processing the user logic for implementing the required automation. The IC697CPU771 is equipped with an 80C186 microprocessor with a processing speed of 12 MHz and a Boolean execution speed of 0.4 microseconds per boolean instruction. This processor is designed with the capability to accommodate up to 2Kbytes of discrete inputs and outputs, of any combination similarly, it supports up to 8 K analog inputs and outputs. The IC697CPU771 is downloaded with a user program that is developed using the Logicmaster 90-70 Programming software, VersaPro Professional Edition, and Proficy Machine Edition Logic Developer PLC Professional Edition. These software packages provide an intuitive user interface, providing a user-friendly programming environment. The IC697CPU771 supports the installation of additional 512 Kbytes of expansion memory. It also supports password-controlled access for limiting the accessibility of the contents of the user program. It is equipped with Three (3) status LED indicators indicating Module Ok, Run, and outputs currently enabled. This CPU module supports operation with I/O and smart option modules over the rack-mounted backplane (IC697CHS750, 782, 783, 790, 791) via the VME C.1 Standard format. It is also compatible with all IC697 LAN interface modules, Coprocessor modules, Bus Controller, and Communications modules. All IC697 families of discrete and analog I/O modules are supported by the IC697CPU771 processor.
