The first rack slot must contain the RIM(near the power supply). RIM is compatible with TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX Bently Nevada external communication processors.
Although RIM performs some tasks that are shared by the entire rack, it is not an important component of the monitoring system and has little impact on overall system performance. Each frame needs one rim. For applications that use three-mode redundancy (TMR), the 3500 system requires the TMR version of RIM.
TMR RIM performs “Monitor channel comparison” in addition to all other normal RIM operations. Configure keylock
The 3500 frame is used to switch between Run and Program modes. Run mode prevents configuration changes while allowing the rack to run properly. Program mode supports local and remote rack configurations as well as standard rack operations.
The switch can be left in the run or program position by removing the key from the bracket in either position. To prevent unauthorized rack reconfiguration, lock the switch in the running position. Test tube racks can be configured remotely at any time by locking the switch in the program position.
