IS200ERDDH1ABB IGBT excitation regulator/Dynamic discharge card
The IS200ERDDH1ABB is an IGBT excitation regulator/dynamic discharge card, an integral part of the third-generation digital excitation platform (EX2100), designed to accompany and integrate in the MKVI and its HMIs. It has many features, including: control of the K3 charging station for redundant applications; Control K41 degaussing station in simplex application; Provide bridge feedback to help monitor DC link and output field voltage; Allows monitoring of output shunt current, bridge temperature and IGBT gate drive status; Provides total grid drive control for excitation; Excess DC link voltage is controlled by dynamic discharge.
The IS200ERDDH1ABB was an IGBT Exciter Regulator/Dynamic Discharge card.
This board had many functions including:
- Controlling the K3 charging station for redundant applications.
- Controlling the K41 de-excitation station, in Simplex applications,
- Providing bridge feedback which helped monitor dc link and output field voltage. This feature also allowed for the monitoring of output shunt currents, bridge temperatures, and the IGBT gate drive statuses.
- Providing total gate drive control for field excitation
- Controlling surplus dc-link voltage by way of a dynamic discharge.
The IS200ERDDH1ABB could be used with both redundant and Simplex applications. The board mounts, however, were in different positions within these different circumstances. The Simplex applications, for example, had the board fastened in the ERBP backplane. Although, in superfluous applications, dual ERDD boards were often used.
