Product Description
Part number IS200EXAMG1A is an Exciter Attenuator Module. This module is used as a bridge protection board and will typically drive the electrical center for the field winding with low-frequency AC voltage that will be relative to the ground. The EXAM modules work together with the EGDM to detect field ground leakage currents. Typically the EXAM module is used to detect the leakages and then they are measured by the EGDM module. The typical location for this module will be in the auxiliary cabinet.
The IS200EXAMG1A module contains a sense resistor that is connected to a resistor network across the field. There are two female connectors on the board, there is a three-position plug as well as a nine-position cable connector. The cable connector will be labeled as the ground detector. Along with the female connectors, there is a single-screw connection that allows for surface wiring connections, two stab-on connectors which are labeled as Vbus-p (E1) and Vbus-n (E2), and three jumpers.
The IS200EXAMG1A can be used in conjunction with redundant systems, and the test signal needed will be sent through either the M1 or M2 connectors. This model has a switch that switches between the M1 and M2 controllers.
