PCIE-6612 NI Counter/Timer Device

The PCIe-6612 Counter/Timer Device has 40 digital PFI lines. Each line can be programmed independently as an input or output. The output impedance of the PCIe-6612 is 75 Ω. The digital lines can safely sustain -3 V to +8 V of voltage. The resolution of this device is 32 bits. The NI PCIe-6612 also incorporates eight counters/timers. These counters support various measurement functions. The counters support internal, as well as external timebases. The internal timebases have fixed frequencies of 100 MHz, 20 MHz, and 100 kHz. The frequency of the external timebase is in a range of 0 to 25 MHz. A frequency generator is also provided in this device. The frequency generator has three base clocks. These clocks have frequencies ranging from 20 MHz to 100 kHz. The PCIe-6612 also features one PLL.

The PCIe 6612 Counter/Timer Device is specifically designed for measurement applications. This device is used for time period/frequency measurements, pulse width measurements, and continuous buffered pulse train measurements. The PCIe-6612 can perform several other tasks as well, including: pulse generation, event counting, and the generation of retriggerable pulses.
