The PFVL141V-16MN sensor uses ABB’s unique Pressductor® technology, which is based on magnetoelastic effects, in which the magnetic properties of a material are affected by the mechanical forces to which it is subjected. When the sensor is subjected to mechanical forces, it produces measurement signals that do not depend on physical motion or deformation, resulting in extremely high sensitivity and excellent tolerance for overload, as well as an almost unlimited number of load cycles.

The sensor’s digital output makes data acquisition and processing easier, while also enabling seamless integration with modern industrial automation systems. It is expected to play an important role in improving the precision and efficiency of the rolling process, while also bringing higher product quality and production efficiency to the rolling industry.
