The PLX31-EIP-MBTCP device is a bi-directional communication gateway module that has been manufactured by Allen-Bradley and ProSoft Technology. The PLX31-EIP-MBTCP gateway module functions specifically as an Ethernet to Modbus TCP/IP gateway that allows data from an Ethernet device to be transferred to a Modbus TCP/IP device or vice versa. The PLX31-EIP-MBTCP gateway module can handle large quantities of data at one time because it has 10,000 16-bit registers. SD cards are optional features for this gateway module, which has an SD card slot that allows the gateway module to use SD cards to store its configuration files and for disaster recovery. It supports positive terminals, negative terminals, and GND terminals. The PLX31-EIP-MBTCP gateway module can operate within a temperature range of -13 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 to 70 degrees Celsius, and its storage temperature range is from -40 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 to 80 degrees Celsius. In both operation and storage, the ambient humidity levels should be between approximately 5 and 95% without condensation. The PLX31-EIP-MBTCP gateway module can be given a conformal coating for protection in harsh environments. During operation, this ProSoft Technology gateway module can take up to 5 G of vibration at frequencies of 10 to 150 Hertz.
