The REG670 is a generator protection device that is part of ABB’s Relion® protection and control product family. It offers a range of protection, control, measurement and management products for generators, transformers, power lines and more in a wide range of applications.

The REG670 adds innovative 100% stator ground protection and a sensitive rotor ground protection, both based on the injection principle for improved performance. In addition, the device also provides three generator and transformer protection optional configuration, ready to buy, suitable for hydropower, pumped energy storage, thermal power, combined cycle, gas, nuclear power, mixed power generation and other all types of power plant generators, transformers.

The REG670 features advanced functions such as insurge current waveform braking of transformer, second harmonic braking in all direction limited grounding based on the negative sequence principle, as well as flexible configuration options and powerful scalability. It uses the core values of the IEC 61850 standard to ensure that solutions are both mutually supportive and future-proof.
