The SCXI-1327 (Part Number: 777687-27, 185136A-01) shielded Terminal Block has 18 screw terminals that can attach to the following module’s input connector: SCXI-1120SCXI-1120DSCXI-1121SCXI-1125, or SCXI-1126. The user must bypass the attenuators on the excitation channels for accurate operation with the SCXI-1121. The SCXI 1327 can extend the input range of the SCXI-1120/D and SCXI-1121 to ±250 V. This Terminal Block can additionally extend the threshold level of the SCXI-1126 module from 5 V all the way to 300 V. There are switches in the NI SCXI-1327 which allow or disallow the extended input voltage range separately for each channel. The SCXI-1327 also decreases the input impedance of the user’s SCXI module to 1 M.

NI software has the capability to change a thermistor voltage to the thermistor temperature for the NI SCXI 1327 Terminal Block. LabVIEW can be used for this purpose; in the Data Acquisition and Signal Conditioning palette, there is a Convert Thermistor Reading VI available. However, if the user is utilizing CVI or NI-DAQ instead, they can use the Thermistor_Convert function. Then, the VI will take the output voltage of the temperature sensor, the reference voltage, and the precision resistance to output the thermistor temperature.

The SCXI-1327 Terminal Block can also be calibrated. This Terminal Block should be calibrated once a year or more frequently if the user’s application is demanding. If the model is calibrated once a year, then it will still meet the measurement preciseness standards. If the NI SCXI-1327 is not performing within specifications, then it may require repair.

The SCXI-1327 is run using the NIDAQmx driver software which can be programmed using software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI. The NI device weighs 7 oz, and measures 7.0 x 3.125 x 1.2 in. in physical dimensions. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 to 50 °C and –20 to 70 °C respectively, and a non-condensing humidity range of 5 to 90%.
