Functions and Applications:
The SPAJ140C is suitable for radiant feeders in directly grounded, resistance grounded or impedance grounded power systems, providing selective protection against short circuits and ground faults.
It includes two parts: overcurrent element and ground fault element, both of which have highly flexible tripping and signaling devices.
Feeder protection can be used according to the requirements of single-phase, two-phase or three-phase overcurrent protection and directional ground fault protection.
The SPAJ140C also includes circuit breaker failure protection.
How it works:
The SPAJ140C is a secondary relay that connects to the current transformer of the protected feeder.
The three-phase overcurrent element and the directionless ground fault element continuously measure the phase current and zero sequence current of the protected feeder.
In case of failure, these elements can initiate an external automatic reclosing or trip the circuit breaker according to the selected protection mode.
Operating characteristics:
When the phase current exceeds the setting value of the underset segment I> of the overcurrent element, the element emits a start signal after a preset delay (for example, about 60 ms).
When the setting action time arrives, the overcurrent protection low set action trip command is issued.
