Product Description
Adept at safeguarding and managing transformer systems, GE Multilin’s 745-W2-P5-G5-HI Transformer Protection Relay extends transformer life expectancy and optimizes transformer performance. This unit is the high control power version of the 745, accepting a control power input of 90 to 300 V DC; 70 to 265 V AC. The relay offers transformer systems a number of practical features, including overexcitation blocking, overfrequency/underfrequency protection, restricted ground fault protection, and system overload protection. The relay can monitor and efficiently respond to shifting system variables like temperature or current. Boasting sixteen logic inputs and an expansive array of ports located at the rear of the terminal, the 745-W2-P5-G5-HI is highly configurable and can act as a stand-alone unit or a component in a larger array.

SR745-W2-P5-G5-HI GE High Speed Transformer Protection Relay
The 745-W2-P5-G5-HI includes the following options for connecting a computer running the EnerVista 745 software program to the 745 transformer protection relay:
-
The RS232 port on the front panel of the relay, ideal for direct connection to a computer for purposes of monitoring a single relay.
-
The RS485/RS422 ports located on the rear panel of the relay, ideal for direct connection for purposes of monitoring more than one relay.
-
Ethernet, preferable for nondirect connection to the relay. (Note that this feature is optional and only included in 745 models with “T” in the model number – prospective buyers should purchase one of these units if Ethernet connection is desired.)
Once the preferred method of connection is properly established, users can utilize EnerVista 745 to monitor the system and edit setpoints with relative ease, especially compared to manually entering setpoints through the relay’s front keypad. Within the EnerVista 745 program, users can check various measurements within the transformer system and also trend that data for further analysis.
